Initial design
The first version of our design replicated the screens used for the equivalent journey to create a new transfer project. As there is not outgoing trust to select, these screens were omitted here.
Problems and further iteration
Unfortunately with this approach it became apparent that search results for schools could cause performance issues. With no outgoing trust to narrow down the available results we found that too many results led to slow performance.
We changed the design to incorprate an auto populate drop down, based on the DfE Select a School pattern
We found this worked much better and made the journey a bit shorter.
Next steps
We’ll monitor user feedback about this page and iterate accordingly.
