We identified this user need from user research:

"As a delivery officer, I need to find projects quickly and easily, so that I can start/continue working on them"

We created a sorting bar to help delivery officers (DOs) find their projects quickly, but this didn’t resonate with them. They instead wanted a search bar and filters, particularly filtering by region.

A series of digital sticky notes from user research sessions.

Creating a minimum viable product

As we were getting ready to launch our minimum viable product (MV) at the end of October, our product manager felt it wasn’t feasible to create a search bar and a set of filters in 2 weeks.

A search bar felt like an MVP solution that would meet the user need.

A list of 4032 academy transfer projects. There is an option to filter projects by project title. For example, The Rutland Learning Trust

A list of 2 academy transfers projects. The list has been filtered by searching for Bolton as the project title.

Next steps

We’ll build this design in development and refine it based on user feedback.
