Introduction

The target audience for the service is as potentially as diverse as the schools it intends to serve, however for the prototype design and research activities specifically the following were considered:

  • Any members of the SLT
  • SBM’s
  • Subject leads
  • Pastoral leads
  • Governors
  • IT leads

From a user perspective prototypes were evaluated over three design phases that included:

1.1 a selection of individual screens evaluating page specific features and functionality

1.2 a interactive prototype that joined up specific areas of critical functionality that enabled the exploration of the full service

1.3 a more refined prototype that removed redundant areas of functionality and resolved a number of GDS related design matters

1.3 also introduced more refined service design based individual user stories to explain in a more relatable way who might use the service including:

  • Jessica, a 46 year old senior business manager who is involved in writing the school's tech development plan.
  • Simone, a 41 year old headteacher who makes the final decision.
  • Stephen, a 32 year old IT manager and tech SME - a trusted voice for tech in senior leadership.
  • Lynne, a 33 year old assistant headteacher who works closely with the SLT to ensure the school runs smoothly.
