This is how the team approached prioritisation in a climate of having to make tough decisions. We had a finite time in which to deliver the features , so we:

  • adopted several prioritisation techniques to ensure regular review of the features we needed to develop and release
  • kept the users in mind and aimed to always maximise value, and this informed the backlog order
  • also kept in mind the need to test and learn, so aimed to release minimum and often to maximise the feedback and data from our users

As a result of regularly reviewing the order of the backlog and the priorities, we were able to adapt to new data and feedback and change direction, where required.
